Slip and Fall

8-Bit browser video game

A side scrolling action banana game. Growing up my dad would draw my sister cartoons with her lunch about anthropomorphized bananas. Naturally when I was playing around with browser based video game ideas something banana related had to be included. The most surprising part of creating this was how immediate Figma Make understood the assignment, and how much of the work was around styling the game’s UI and tuning the game’s feel. It was interesting to develop a bit of a “common language” with an LLM prompt where we mutually developed names for specific elements and qualities, and were able to update them with our shared vocabulary.

Key Features

Local High Scores

Multiple color schemes that adapt to the music intensity and genre

In Browser Gameplay

Building an entire game in Figma Make that works on any browser blew me away, hopefully it does for you too.

Pixelated Bananas

I just had a blast coming up with all the little banan-vatars throughout the game.

Physics Engine

Optimized rendering engine maintaining 60fps even with complex visualizations

Lessons Learned

This project deepened my understanding of browser possibilities, performance optimization, and creating smooth animations. Working with real-time processing taught me valuable lessons about efficient data handling and rendering.
